Our Story

In January 2023, as COVID restrictions were lifting and schools were getting back to normal, I had an idea. As the President of a Middle School PTO, I thought it would be fun to host a school dance. The principal was on board, even though turnout for past dances had been low.

But after three-plus years of virtual classes and canceled activities, I figured the students were overdue for some fun. We booked a DJ, rented a photo booth and ordered 50 pizzas.

We expected 200 students, but over 400 showed up! 

As I watched the kids dancing, laughing and making videos, I thought to myself: this is exactly what’s been missing—a chance for tweens and teens to hang out, listen to music, and just have a good time. If they could have that much fun in a gym, why not create a more stylish, dedicated space for it?

That night sparked the idea for Chelsea Party Loft, “the school dance without the school.” Over the next two years, I searched for the perfect location to bring this vision to life. I found it in Chelsea Village Plaza, right across the hall from the Secretary of State office. But securing the location was only half the battle.

The other half was building a business that made it easy for clients to work with. As a parent of a teenager, I’ve visited many local party venues (and even booked a few myself). After surveying over 25 popular local destinations, I found that most of their booking processes were time-consuming and frustrating. 

I knew there had to be a better way. So, I created a straightforward hourly rate. Just $99 per hour Monday through Thursday, and $149 per hour Friday through Sunday, with no minimums . 

Those rates include everything you need to have an epic time: tables, chairs, linens, water, lemonade, sound system, disco lights, a greenery wall, an audio guestbook and our brand-new 360 Video Booth (a $500 value on its own). By bundling these top tier amenities, I believe Chelsea Party Loft offers the best value around, at prices that are below the competition.
